Ortho Visit

Yesterday I took all the kids in for an orthodontist visit. Thankfully, the visit didn't cost me as much as a few airline tickets to the States.

William's retainer is still doing a great job, so he'll come back in six months. Benjamin does have some very crooked bottom teeth, but the orthodontist said they would straighten out some as they continue to grow in, but will need some work in the future, but not now - bring him back in a year.

Did you hear my checking account screaming "THANK YOU!!"???

Then there was Melissa. Not really liking what he saw, he took x-rays to make sure all is well. When I sat down with him and the x-rays, the first thing he said was "She's missing some teeth."

It took a few seconds for that to process through my brain..."Stop, missing teeth, what do you mean?"

He then showed me on the x-rays that even though the canines are baby teeth, there's no adult teeth in the gums along with another set of teeth.

Me: "Is this good or bad?"

Him: " Well, it's...um....well...it just is."

Alrighty-then.

So, we'll bring her back in a year to and maybe by then some will appear by then...

I hate to tell you this but she will never cut those teeth; why do you think I had to have my front teeth capped? I was missing two teeth! Had the baby teeth but not the adult version; sorry, baby, but save some money or wait on your inheritance!!!!

Did he check to see if they are up in the palate? Amelia's adult canines were up in her palette. Amelia had surgery to pull the baby teeth and attach a brace and chain to each adult tooth. Each time she went to the ortho, they cut a link of the chain until the teeth came through and they attached them to her existing braces.

She just got all of her braces off...a year early!! She is siked! She has to wear a retainer for 6 months.
