Tops in Blue

Last night Andersen was blessed to have Tops in Blue to come and entertain the base. Tops in Blue is an entertainment group made of active duty Air Force members. After a competitive audition progress, they train for several months then tour Air Force bases the world over for ten months.

This year the theme is "Deja Blue".The group did songs from box-office-hit movies mostly from the 80's and 90's with clips from the movie playing on large screens. Then they did several songs with a country theme then a set with a Latino theme. They ended with arousing rendition of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" and then the Air Force Song.

In a word: Wonderful.

Another word: Awesome.

The boys weren't too sure what we were taking them to, but by the end of the show they were won over. Melissa is up for anything any time.

There's a story told about Drew that as a child when any of his family members said they were going somewhere, he would answer - I wanna go! So, his nickname was "I Wanna Go Andrew". Melissa is much like that! I don't even think she asked what "Tops in Blue" was -she was just ready to go! But she also was a fan by the end of the show.

I am truly thankful that was a nice family show. We saw Tops in Blue when we lived in Japan and all I remember from that show was that it was very sexually and not very family-friendly. Last night was just the opposite - it was a pleasure to be in a show with all my kids and we all were entertained - not cringing at the words or songs I would have to explain later.
