So far, so good

Here's a picture of William to prove that he has yet come to any bodily harm. Last night during bed-time prayers, he prayed, "Thank you , Jesus, that I haven't had to go to the ER this weekend." Amen to that!!
Later I'll post a pictured of Melissa's face - it looks so much better! The scab came off Friday night. She's at a friend's house right now.
As some of you remember right after we moved from CA to VA 9/11 happened and Drew was deployed for the first time. At the time I sent an email out telling every one what all was going on with Drew. Two friend from church in CA were talking about it when a third lady walked up. All she heard was "Kelley said Drew left." Well, this third lady took it the wrong way and spent the next five minutes ranting about how Drew was the last person she thought would walk out on his family and how dare he leave me with three kids and with Ben still being a baby. The other two friends finally were able to explain to her that he left as in deployed. She never really believed them...months later she would ask, "How are Kelley and Drew really doing?"
In light of that memory...Drew's left again. This time only for a week and to a much safe place - Hawaii. Yep..Hawaii...without me... He says it can't be helped - that is where his boss is and that's just where his boss decided to have the conference. Right...and so why are you taking your scuba gear??!!
But I got the last laugh - he has a shopping list of things I can't find on this island...maybe he'll find them on that island.
(And yes, the kids and I could have gone along, but we felt it was too early in the school year to be taking them out of school - and we have lots going on this week. There will be other times for the kids and I to go...I'll make sure of that. :) )
M & W are still in swimming (Ben is still on the waiting list) and both boys start soccer practice this week. All three kids have an open house with their class this week. The school is trying something different and having each class host their own open house in the afternoon during school hour. Not sure how this will work with the working parents. Ben's in Monday, Melissa's is Wednesday, and William's is Friday afternoons.
