An Evening in Paradise

There are negatives about living in Guam. And, no, I'm not talking about the shopping- although it is bad nor am I talking about the low speed limit (yes, I break it just about every day, I must confess.) I'm talking about how the power can go out.

Soooo not fun.

One minute we all are happy and cool and the next we have no power and the kids decide to go loco - in and out, out and in - soon the cool house is no longer cool.

So, out we pull the very large generator. After putting it together - with flashlights -we plug it into the house.

And discover that it's not big enough to run the refrigerator and the A/C at the some time.

Actually, it's not big enough to run the A/C at all.

Lovely.

Let's try not to think how much that very large (and almost useless) generator cost us.

But we do have options:

We can run a few lights and one burner on the stove-top OR we can run a few lights and the refrigerator OR we can run a few lights and the microwave.

But no A/C.

We all need now to commences praying that no typhoon hits the island and knocks out power for days.
