On most Wednesday nights you'll find the kids and I at AWANAs. It sort of like Sunday school. I'm in charge of the lower elementary grades. The week before Easter I wanted to do an Easter lesson, but with a twist.
So, I had Benjamin dress up in our bunny costume and come in as Peter Cottontail, Jr. PJ for short. We talked about how when the kids see the Easter bunny, they need to think about different things about Jesus - like the white fur is for Jesus taking our sins away and the big ears are to remind us that we need to listen more than we talk. All in all I think the lesson went well - besides - doesn't Ben just make the cutest rabbit??!!
