I'm Sold

Since we've been here we have watched the building of our base's new exchange. For those not use to military talk, exchange is the store where we buy everything but food. When we got here, we were not impressed with the current one. Most on this base drive at least once a month an hour to the Navy's exchange. Army -Air Force and the Navy's exchanges are two totally separate stores that carry separate brands and items.

So our long-awaited exchange opened this week.

I was bound and determined not to be apart of the craziness.

Just think of the stores the day after Thanksgiving and that gives you some idea of what kind of crowds were there.

I actually wasn't planning to go into the new store until weeks had passed - let all the insanity calm down.

But it was not meant to be. Drew had the day off yesterday and after doing a few other errands on base, he wanted to walk through the store and see if the hype was right.

And we both were impressed.

This is not the old-kind of BX - oh, no. In fact, we both at times felt like we were in a Wal-Mart. Very impressive for a BX.

There was one disappointing factor. The food court's Baskin-Robbins. Our old one only had 8 flavors and not 31. In fact many times there would even be 8 flavors. Melissa was exceptionally looking forward to a full 31 flavor choice.

But it was not meant to be. We now have 10 or 12 choices, but not 31 flavors.

I hope this will not scare her for life....ice cream is important you know.
