Less than one week we will be on vacation - we are sooo excited!! Plan A was to attend our niece's wedding in Mississippi....but reality quickly set in. Not only are airline tickets still $1200 - $1700 + for ONE TICKET (and remember there's five us of), but it'll take about 30 hours of traveling to there from here.
Not really do-able in the middle of the school year.
So, it's one to Plan B: Cairns, Australia - where tickets from here are much, much less than $1200 and it's only a five hour plane ride.
Not a bad Plan B, uh???
When we found out we were moving to Guam, we (well...mostly me) promised the kids that would take them to Japan (which we did in February) and to Australia so they can see the koala and kangaroos. Ben has now added crocodiles. (lovely)
We, of course, are only going to honor that promise.
(Yeah, right!)
We'll be gone right at a week. We all are ready and looking forward to getting out of town for a while. This will be Drew's first vacation since February - he's really looking forward to being in a place that his cell phone doesn't work. Me, too!
