The Game of Life

The kids are all snug in their beds - with dreams of skateboards and bikes dancing in their heads. And we are now waiting for them to fall asleep so Santa can come.

And so I can go to sleep.

I truly want to go to sleep as my children woke me up at 6:15 am....with breakfast in bed.

Sweet, very sweet act of love and part of our Christmas gift, but at 6:15???? We really love our sleep.

Tonight we enjoyed the candle-light service at the Chapel - lots of hymns between the reading of The Christmas Story. We came home to enjoy ham sandwiches and then THE PRESENTS! Yes, the kids were very excited and very happy that our tradition is opening gifts on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day.

Although, we joke (threaten) that we'll change this year.

They never fall for it.

On a sad note, two presents are still in the mail....one for Ben and William's big present from my parents. Of course, we're not quite sure if William's present is even being shipped - we're still waiting for an email to say how much the shipping will be. But hey! That means that Christmas just may last and last around here.

One gift Ben got from my parents was the Game of Life. Which of course they all wanted to play - tonight.

oh, my....what a long complicated game. I just don't remember it being that long or that complicated when I played as a child.

Wow. I really didn't know if we were going to finish it.

But we did.

Drew won.

But we all learned that you really need to the computer tech in the game. They get 50K every time some one spins the spinner off the track.

And with which three kids who have never played the game before? Mega money.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Enjoy!

Hey Kelley and Boys,

Love reading your blogs, they are a hoot(that's my new word this year, you should see the looks I get in the classroom). BTW I found the greatest and funniest site that I'm sure you'll enjoy. It's called Cake Wrecks and it really is a hoot. I find myself going to bakeries every chance I get to see if I can find any cake wrecks(and to eat donuts...love those glazed ones...maybe that's why I havent' lost any weight this year. I actually gain weight in the biggest loser club at school!) Of course I haven't yet but Garry did say that my "artist eyes" are warped from all of the wonderful stuff my kindergarten kids do in the class. Anyway, hope you enjoy the site and have a wonderful holiday season. When are you coming back? I really miss the kids at school and church. BTW they could really blend right in with my class this year...the day isn't complete unless we make one trip to the nurse at school...I swear the parents are gonna think I beat these kids or something( I don't-really) they're just very clumsy and dramatic. Well, Merry Christmas...I gotta get back and track Santa on NORAD!

Mai
