Putting us to Shame

Last night it occurred to me that we need to be more bold. Bold enough not to worry what people think. Bold enough to actually say, "Merry Christmas" and to tell people we are celebrating our Saviour's Birth -not just marking things off on our wish list and to-do list.

I was at a ladies function last night here on base where the First Lady of Guam, Mrs. Joann Camacho, was present. She was asked to speak a few words. She boldly said that we are celebrating Christ this season.

It just got me thinking - how many other governors' wife would be that bold and not worry that they would offend someone. A few weeks ago we attended the Guam Police Department's Christmas party and the Chief of Police said the same thing in his prayer.

No matter what newcomers to this island may say or think about the locals here - we can learn from them. They aren't shy about saying the name of Jesus - and neither should we.
